Tea

I quit coffee a couple of summers ago and now I drink tea. I do love the smell of coffee and the ritual of the french press, cowboy coffee, barista magic, all of that. But when it comes down to it, I had to bow to what my body was telling me. “A-hem, er, mister, I don’t like it when you drink this stuff.” So, I turned to strong black tea. My relationship to tea is developing as time meanders, or slams me around. I like to play with levels of sweetness and milkiness. I’ve had tea lattes, called a ‘steamer’ at one of our local cafes. I’m not sure if I can live up to the Japanese masters of tea, but I am committed to the little rituals in life that provide meaning and comfort. And a little pick me up.
