Julie Mehretu

Following my interest in adopting elements from isometric drawings into an equivocal space, I am re-evaluating the work of artists I have been interested in. The possibilities of representing space afforded by Chinese, Japanese, and Indian/Persian painting continues to attract my interest, as the opportunities to conflate spacial and temporal understanding are intriguing. The work of Julie Mehretu seems ever more relevant to these concerns, while I seek out visual references for this new work.
